Bengals DE Lawson adds NFL leading total without even playing

Cincinnati Bengals rookie linebacker Carl Lawson saw his team-leading sack total increases without even stepping on the field.

A an official scoring change Wednesday awarded Lawson a half sack on a play with two minutes left in the second quarter of the Denver game Nov. 19. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict had been credited with a full sack of Brock Osweiler before the scoring change.

The change upped Lawson’s total to 7.5, which is not only the most on the team but the most among all rookies in the NFL.
