WHIO radio hosting Nostalgia Week starting this Sunday

Taking a look at its storied past, WHIO radio is hosting another special week for listeners.

WHIO radio’s 2nd annual Nostalgia Week kicks off Sunday. Listeners can hear special jingles from the station’s history, guests and special content during the week on AM 1290 and News 95.7 WHIO.

Listeners can hear a special show hosted by WHIO radio’s Jason Michaels that will air Sunday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Monday at 6 pm. On Friday, WHIO radio’s Larry Hansgen will host a special extended edition of Miami Valley’s Morning News, taking calls from listeners who want to share their memories of the station in the 9 a.m. hour.

Just like last year, the station would like to hear from listeners during the special week. Anyone that would like to share memories can leave their comments on WHIO Radio's Facebook page.

One interesting note about this year: this also happens to be a year where the station is nominated for a Marconi Radio Award. AM 1290 and News 95.7 WHIO was nominated for legendary station of the year.
