Power restored to 2 Northeastern Local schools after earlier outage

Outages caused by a downed power pole on Elaina Drive in Springfield have dropped from 1,300 to around 400, according to an online Ohio Edison outage map.

A snapped pole in Northridge has knocked out power to around 1,300 Ohio Edison customers in Clark County, including two Northeastern Local schools on their first day back from summer break.

Dispatchers said the downed pole was reported on Elaina Drive Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m., and disrupted power to several surrounding areas.

Two schools, Kenton Ridge High School and Northridge Elementary/Middle School, are without power, according to dispatchers.

A district official confirmed the outages to the two schools but said the day is continuing as scheduled at both schools.
