$5,000 in merchandise stolen from local auto shop

An estimated $5,000 in tires was stolen from Main Auto and Tire, according to a Dayton Police incident report.

According to the report filed Wednesday, the store manager notified police when he arrived for the morning shift and noticed the alarm key pad, which is monitored by ADT, was beeping.

Also, the outside security lights were flashing.

The security company never notified Dayton police of the break in, according to the report.

As many as 30 tires were reported missing. According to the store manager, this is the second time the shop has been broken into in a little over a month.

No arrests have been made.
