Teen indicted for burglary after being charged as adult in deaths of woman, fetus

A 17-year-old accused of killing a 22-year-old pregnant woman was indicted today for a burglary that happened a month before the fatal shooting.

Brandon Leigh also will be in adult court for the latest charge, stemming from a Jan. 20 residential burglary in the 2100 block of Della Drive in Dayton.

He will be arraigned Tuesday, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

He has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the deaths of Keyona Deshawn Murray and her fetus. Murray was shot Feb. 16 inside a home in the 100 block of Lorenz Avenue in Dayton.

The gunfire came from outside her home while Murray was in the house with her 2-year-old child and 2-year-old nephew, police and witnesses said.

Leigh remains held in the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.
