Police were called Sept. 16 to the 3100 block of Wilbraham Road on a report of a passed out person in a vehicle. Police said they found Johnson sleeping in the driver’s seat.
As he was being searched by police, Johnson became “argumentative” and began to pull away from police and flee on foot, according to the report. Johnson was caught, then penned between his vehicle and the police cruiser.
He broke free again and police used a taser and shot barbs into Johnson’s right side, the report read. Johnson disconnected the wires and ran away, police said. During a foot chase Johnson lost his balance and fell to the ground. When he attempted to get up, police deployed a taser for a second time. Johnson then placed his hands behind his back.

Johnson told police he was unable to breathe, so Middletown paramedics were dispatched. They removed the taser barbs, according to the report.
Drugs found in Johnson’s vehicle were field tested positive for methamphetamine that weighed about 2.3 grams, police said.
Three open beers were also found in the vehicle.
Johnson’s preliminary hearing is set for Monday in Middletown Municipal Court, records show.
