Fired daycare worker who pinched, slapped child could face criminal charge in Harrison Twp.

A woman went to law enforcement after she said a daycare worker pinched and slapped her child.

The mother said when she arrived Monday at Young Dimensions Child Care to pick up her 2-year-old son, she was startled by what she saw.

“I walk into an employee pinching, twisting, pulling,” Danika Stroud said.

But that wasn’t all that had happened to her son.

Stroud said she reviewed surveillance videos with the business owner and saw more abuse.

“She slapped my son, pushed him forward really aggressively,” she said.

The owner of Young Dimensions said she fired the employee immediately after reviewing the surveillance video.

“When the parent called me ... I told her this is going to be resolved and she’s not coming back,” owner Keyona White said.

White said the former employee had only worked there about a month, and that moving forward she will be monitoring surveillance videos more closely.

Stroud said she’s pleased with how the daycare handled the situation, but wants to see the former employee face criminal charges as well.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said a detective has been assigned to the case, but that it remains under investigation.
