Premier Health president and CEO Mary Boosalis said in a memo to health system leadership that Maiberger will be dropping the dual role as hospital president, and a separate president will be hired.

“Now, with all the changes and growth in the various sectors of our health system, the time is right to unwind these two roles as we go forward to a very exciting future,” Boosalis said.

Maiberger will remain president during the search and help with onboarding the new president.

The future president will be the leader of Dayton-based Premier’s flagship hospital, which is one of the largest private employers in the city and has two additional campuses, Miami Valley Hospital South and Miami Valley Hospital North.

The hospital also has the region’s only Level 1 trauma center, which is the highest level of trauma center. It is also home to specialized services like the regional adult burn center and a high-risk maternity ward.
